Concerned employee updates Java on conference room PC

In hundreds if not thousands of conference rooms across the world there are Windows 7 PCs with a balloon popup asking the user to update Java. Usually the IT department is way to busy to be concerned with keeping Java up to date. However Monday was different.
This Monday Karen from accounting took the charge and updated Java on the conference room PC. There were those who doubted, saying surely the PC would be locked down by the IT department, but that was not the case. The PC was wide open and had full administrator access.
After the prompt was clicked Karen accidently added two new toolbars to IE, but no worry people only use Chrome on this computer anyway. All in all a major risk was taken to update Java and it will only be a few more days before an update needs to happen again. When that day comes who will take up the mantle?
