Seattle based University of Washington will begin offering a new class this fall. Due to the high business need for experts who have applicable a program has been developed to offer a PhD in Microsoft Software Licensing. Initially the program was going to be a weekend certificate program, however as the curriculum was being developed the program evolved into a masters then doctorate program.
Students who graduate will be able to understand exactly how and why their companies are out of compliance with Microsoft’s licensing agreements. One of the designers of the program said the skills students learn will travel around the globe and can be applied to nearly any industry.
Because of the constantly changing and evolving nature of Microsoft’s agreements graduates of this new program will be required to take regular courses to stay relevant and accurate. According to an industry estimate changes occur multiple times an hour to ensure no one is fully in compliance. It would seem this is one PhD program where graduates will be in high demand and not struggle to find a job.
